The Canadian Network of Education Human Resource Professionals (CNEHRP) organizes annual professional development and networking opportunities for human resource professionals supporting the education of K-12 students in school districts across Canada.
The CNEHRP annual conference held in March of each year focuses on emerging trends in human resources and labour relations, collective bargaining, and truth and reconciliation in K-12 education to support the growth of excellence of HR professionals at the local school district level and to provide a broader understanding of these trends on a provincial and national perspective across Canada.
CNEHRP is open to all K-12 HR professionals to register. Conference attendance is limited and sells out each year.
Future-Ready HR: Driving Equity, Strategy, and Resilience
As K–12 education systems and school districts across Canada face rapid change, the role of Human Resources has never been more critical. This year’s CNEHRP conference brings together HR leaders and legal experts working in schools to explore how HR can shape governance, champion human rights, and strengthen organizational resilience. Participants will engage in panels, roundtables, and interactive sessions covering topics such as collective bargaining, external investigations, leveraging AI, advancing Truth and Reconciliation, and preparing the next generation of HR leaders. Working Effectively with External Workplace Investigators
Workplace investigations are a critical tool for managing risk, ensuring compliance, and maintaining trust and transparency within school communities. In some cases, engaging an external investigator can be essential—but knowing how to work effectively with them is just as important.This session brings together a school boards lawyer and an experienced external workplace investigator to provide practical guidance for Human Resources professionals and key decision-makers in school boards and school districts. Participants will gain insight into when and why to engage an external investigator, how to prepare for and support the investigation process, and how legal considerations shape investigation outcomes. The presenters will also address common challenges, best practices, and strategies for ensuring investigations are fair, timely, thorough, and defensible.
